1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded) (level A)
Pre-recorded video with audio needs captions.
How it shows up in Confluence
A recorded demo narrated by a colleague is the usual case. Auto-generated captions from the hosting platform are a reasonable start, but they need correcting for product names and jargon — which is exactly the vocabulary the viewer came for.
What to do about it
Enable and correct captions on the hosting platform, and link a transcript from the page. A checker can tell you a video is present; it cannot tell whether its captions are accurate, so this one always ends with a person.
What Clearwren checks for this criterion
- Video or audio may need captions or a transcript — Pre-recorded audio and video need captions and a text alternative, and a page cannot prove it has them on its own.
